This recognition starts and ends with having an amazing team, including wonderful volunteers who help provide the best care possible to children and their families. It takes a team to heal a child, and Texas Children's volunteers are an essential part of this effort.

Texas Children's Volunteer Services assigns volunteer positions based on the hospital's current needs and the volunteer's availability, interests and skills. Adult volunteers must be at least 18 years old and commit to serving a minimum of one, three-hour shift on the same day and at the same time each week for six months or longer.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and make a commitment to volunteer once a week for a minimum of 3 consecutive hours to accrue 100 hours (6 months). Prospective volunteers are strongly encouraged to consider the time commitment, consistency, and dedication necessary to make the volunteer experience beneficial to both you as a volunteer and to the patients, families and Hospital staff we serve.
